Sales automation startup Clay recently announced it has raised $115 million in funding, boosting its valuation to $7.1 billion, an increase of $2.1 billion since the beginning of the year. Clay leverages artificial intelligence to enhance the productivity of B2B sales teams, allowing salespeople to find potential buyers by entering descriptions of their target audience. The platform not only surfaces high-level company details but also identifies potential deal opportunities, helping users enrich their lead data from over 200 external sources. Clay's clientele includes notable tech firms like OpenAI, and it is projected to reach an annual revenue of $200 million.
In parallel, AI research startup Listen Labs walked away from a $1.5 billion funding round due to acquisition talks with Salesforce. Listen Labs focuses on automating customer interviews using voice AI, enabling companies to quickly gauge customer needs. Although the funding round did not close, if negotiations fail, Listen Labs may return to the market targeting a valuation of over $2 billion. The funding activities of both companies reflect the growing significance of AI technology in sales and market research, which is worth noting in the industry.
